“No Rogue Rulings”: GOP Congress Hands Trump Major Victory against Woke, Activist Judges

The House of Representatives, under GOP leadership, has delivered a significant victory to President Donald Trump and his administration, which, if approved by the Senate, could lead to a substantial change in the manner in which activist judges exercise their authority against the administration. This victory was achieved through the passage of The No Rogue Rulings Act, which restricts the capacity of district court judges to issue nationwide injunctions.

To provide context, President Trump has faced ongoing challenges in executing his preferred policies, such as the deportation of gang members linked to terrorist organizations like MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, due to activist judges entrenched in the district court system who obstruct these efforts with injunctions that must subsequently be appealed to the Supreme Court.

In response, the House of Representatives has taken measures against these judges by passing the No Rogue Rulings Act, which received near-unanimous support from Republicans during the vote on Wednesday, April 9, with all but one Republican representative endorsing the bill and no Democratic representatives voting in favor.

Representative Derek Schmidt (R-KS) emphasized the importance of the bill in an interview with Fox News Digital, stating that it would curtail the ability of plaintiffs to engage in ‘judge shopping’ to find a sympathetic judge who would support their case for political motives rather than for the sake of justice. He remarked, ‘Many things are labeled as commonsense around here, but this one truly is.’

Furthermore, the conservative legislator pointed out that district court judges have brought this situation upon themselves through their excessive use of nationwide injunctions, asserting, ‘The fundamental policy aimed at curbing the overuse of nationwide injunctions was previously endorsed by Democrats. It is now supported by Republicans, and I hope this vote will receive bipartisan backing.’

Additionally, Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX), a member of the House Judiciary Committee alongside Rep. Schmidt, also weighed in on the issue. He informed Fox News that district court judges, by acting in such an activist manner, have demonstrated a need for legislation that restrains their actions. He stated, “Many Democrat-appointed lower court judges have behaved like activist liberal attorneys in robes while trying to obstruct President Trump’s nationwide reforms. The No Rogue Rulings Act curtails this unchecked authority.”

Another Republican legislator who addressed the issue with Fox News Digital was Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-IA), who contended that unelected judges should not have the power to impede the president’s campaign agenda. Rep. Feenstra remarked, “Over 77 million Americans voted for [Trump’s] pro-American policies and wish to see them enacted swiftly. There is no justification for allowing activist judges, whose jurisdiction does not extend nationally, to entirely halt [his] agenda.”

Moreover, Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-IN) articulated to the outlet that the judges have exhibited a “vendetta” against the president and therefore must be curtailed. Rep. Stutzman asserted, “The judicial vendetta against President Trump’s agenda requires oversight. Nationwide injunctions by activist judges have obstructed the will of the American people and, in some instances, their safety, since the President took office.”
