In a dramatic display, New York Attorney General Letitia James criticized the Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision in Trump v. CASA, which affirmed President Trump’s executive order that terminated birthright citizenship for children born to non-citizen parents. In her disconcerting comments, James described the ruling as a “profound and disappointing setback.”
To provide context, this landmark ruling also restricted the capacity of federal judges to issue nationwide injunctions, as exemplified by Judge James Boasberg’s decision to block Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport gang-affiliated illegal immigrants. Despite this significant defeat, James pledged to persist in her opposition to Trump, even in light of an impending FBI investigation regarding alleged mortgage fraud.
James, a New York Democrat, gained national notoriety for a lawsuit in which she accused Trump of misrepresenting the value of his assets while seeking a loan. However, her own hypocrisy came to light when it was revealed that she might have falsified documents to secure more favorable mortgage terms, leading to a substantial FBI inquiry.
This was evident when Letitia James responded to the ruling, stating, “Every child born on U.S. soil is a citizen of this country, regardless of the state in which they are born. This has been the law of the land for over a century.”
Not finished, she lamented, “This has been a profound and disappointing setback for the families who now confront significant uncertainty and peril, for the millions who depend on the courts to safeguard their constitutional rights, and for the essential rule of law,” further asserting, “We will continue to uphold the Constitution and the shared values that bind us.”
Far from being her only outrageous public statement, New York Attorney General Letitia James recently engaged in an absurd tirade in response to Attorney General Pam Bondi intensifying the investigation into her purported real estate corruption.
As previously reported, James’s outburst commenced with a typical anti-Trump diatribe. She lamented, “We prepared in anticipation of Donald Trump winning this election, we examined Project 2025, we considered jurisdiction, we assessed venue, we analyzed a wide array of issues, which is why, when he issued his first executive order concerning birthright citizenship, we reacted.”
Not finished yet, she elaborated on the various ways her office had obstructed the Trump administration, stating, “Within 48 hours, we have initiated a lawsuit regarding birthright citizenship. We’ve obtained a preliminary injunction. Elon Musk, we have taken legal action against him in DOGE, and we were victorious. We have also filed suit concerning the Office of Management and Budget, when they froze funds in FEMA, and we achieved success.”
Continuing her provocative statements, the unpopular and allegedly corrupt Democrat asserted, “We filed a lawsuit regarding probationary employees, all those probationary employees who were dismissed. We prevailed. We sued the NHI, the National Health Institute. We succeeded in obtaining a preliminary injunction.”
In conclusion to her far-left diatribe, Letitia James exclaimed, “We filed a lawsuit against the dismantling of the Department of Education. We were successful. We secured a TRO and were successful concerning the education grants. I could continue indefinitely. The point is, we are winning.
