A 24-year-old woman recently journeyed a considerable distance to have double jaw surgery. The dramatic nature of the procedure and its remarkable outcomes have left many online in awe.
As a child, Alesia Konovalenko underwent three surgeries for her cleft palate, including a corrective operation due to complications from the second surgery. These early medical issues impacted the growth of her facial bones and the alignment of her bite.
Years later, ongoing ear pain led the singer to opt for double jaw surgery in March 2025, a procedure that resulted in significant physical and emotional changes. “My primary goal was to achieve a beautiful smile because I’ve struggled with overbite issues, and my teeth have been problematic throughout my life,” the 24-year-old states.
Konovalenko first received braces at the age of 12 and continued to wear them until she was 16. “My teeth appeared straight, but my overbite remained quite pronounced,” she clarifies. “So, it was essentially just a superficial fix.”
Two years ago, Konovalenko began to suffer from frequent, unexplained earaches. During her second round of braces, a gnathologist cautioned that they could exacerbate her symptoms. Subsequent assessments confirmed that her ear pain was associated with her overbite, and surgery was deemed the only viable remedy.
The first week of recovery for Konovalenko was quite difficult. For the initial five days, she consumed food through a syringe before transitioning to a small spoon. She was taken aback when her doctor permitted her to eat soft-chewed foods by the seventh day, especially since she had mentally prepared for an extended liquid diet. Although the recovery was challenging, it yielded mostly positive surprises. Improvements began to manifest almost immediately post-surgery. “I breathe so much easier,” Konovalenko remarked. “My sense of smell has increased so dramatically that I might consider writing a comic book about it.”
Alesia’s transformation has captivated individuals online. “I must say, you appear to be an entirely different person following the procedure, yet in some way, you are even more stunning,” remarked one observer. “You look incredibly lovely ❤️ I am confident that the swelling will subside further,” contributed another.
